Waxing lasts longer than shaving because the entire hair follicle is removed with wax, whereas, shaving just cuts hair off at the surface
Hair grows back much thinner and softer
Skin feels smoother (no cuts or razorburn)
Less risk of ingrown hairs
Ideal for hard to reach areas
What's the best way to prep for waxing?
For best results stop shaving, trimming, or using hair removal creams a minimum of 2 weeks before appointment
Hair should be ¼ to ½ inch in length
Exfoliate 24hrs before waxing as this removes dead skin build up around and in the hair follicle, aiding in an easier and more thorough removal
Ibuprofen or Tylenol can be taken 30mins prior to appointment to help ease any discomfort
If you enjoy exercising please do so before your appointment. Exercising after isn’t recommended for 24 hours due to the risk of breakouts from sweat clogging open pores
No tanning for a minimum of 24 hours prior
Wear loose comfortable clothing
Avoid Glycolic & Lactic Acid 5 days prior
Please avoid Retinols for at least 7-10 days before you intend on being waxed (specifically face). This is very important and failure to do so could result in lifting of the skin as these products compromise the integrity of the skin. *This includes all topical and acne medications*
Is waxing painful ?
The truth is everyone’s pain tolerance is different. What may be painful to some may not be to others.
How long does a Brazilian last?
It typically lasts 3-4 weeks depending on how fast your hair grows back. Waxing consistently every 3-4 weeks will ensure that your hair is on the same growth cycles and will grow back slower and thinner
Is it safe to get a Brazilian while pregnant?
Yes. You may experience more sensitivity due to hormonal changes your body is going through. For waxes in the last two months of pregnancy, please consult your doctor prior to service if you haven't already been waxing monthly
Can you wax with piercings?
Yes. If you are more comfortable you can remove the piercing, otherwise, we will wax around it.
Can I be waxed if I am on my period?
Absolutely. Just keep in mind that your pubic area is often more sensitive during this time so you may experience more discomfort than usual. In order to complete the service successfully you will need to wear a tampon. If you are concerned please book in between cycles.
Why does my skin feel so itchy?
If your skin feels itchy when your hair is growing back, that is your body’s natural way of telling you to remove the dead skin that isn’t allowing the hair to properly penetrate the skin during regrowth.
It is important to exfoliate 2-3 times per week to avoid ingrown hairs.
